This position will work part-time (up to 15 hrs/week), until April 30, 2020.

Reporting to the Associate Director - Services, the EASI Program Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of marketing activities across campus through the coordination of the Education Abroad Squad International (EASI) Student Ambassador Volunteer Program.


  • Staffing the Education Abroad booth at on-campus events, including: Go Abroad Fair, Back2U Student Conference, UofA Open House, Pre-departure Sessions, etc. 
  • Recruiting, training, coordinating, and scheduling volunteers for promotional activities and events for EAP
  • Maintaining volunteer records, leading volunteer meetings, creating volunteer recognition/appreciation program
  • Assisting with the distribution of promotional and publication material (i.e. online and in person information sessions/materials) 
  • Presenting to classes on campus promoting study and work abroad opportunities
  • Organizing and executing campus awareness campaigns
  • Collecting data and creating a final report
  • Generating awareness and excitement for study and work abroad opportunities on campus
  • Providing general support and administrative assistance as needed


Preference is given to students who have studied or worked abroad or are attending the University of Alberta as an international student.

  • Possess leadership ability in the context of volunteer programming and supervision
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and public speaking skills
  • Be able to work both independently and in a team environment, take initiative, and work under time constraints
  • Possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm and passion for Education Abroad
  • Have volunteer experience
  • Possess strong computer skills, including use of databases and social media
  • Be familiar with the University of Alberta
  • Have work or study experience in a cross-cultural environment
  • Be able to work between 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (some evening and weekend hours required)
