This position is situated within the International Relations division of University of Alberta International (UAI) and is specifically focussed on supporting international relations work. The International Relations Assistant will take direction primarily from the Information Management and Events Coordinator, and occasionally, the Director - International Relations.


  • Data entry for a database of international agreements, visits, missions, and collaborative activities.
  • Assisting with the preparation of profiles outlining UAlberta’s activities with specific countries and institutions.
  • Helping with logistical and research tasks related to organizing incoming international visits and outgoing trips (missions).
  • Providing logistical support for UAlberta International events and programs.
  • Preparing packages of brochures and wrapping gifts for visits and missions.
  • Other administrative support for International Relations team, as needed.


The ideal candidate must be a continuing, full-time UofA student (taking a minimum of 9 credits for undergraduate students) and will have:

  • Excellent English writing skills (native fluency)
  • Extremely keen attention to detail
  • Strong computer and data management skills
  • Service orientation
  • Good research skills

Additional Information

This position requires work during regular business hours (08:30 - 16:30); occasionally this position may require some work outside of normal working hours but this would be agreed upon in advance.

Ideally, we would like the successful candidate to start the week of August 26.
