This full-time position will begin as soon as possible and has a term length of 6 months from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Bookstore Assistant Director, this position will work with a set of vendors and inventory categories to manage vendor relationships, purchasing, and ensure inventory listings are kept up to date. The successful candidate will love numbers, be detail oriented, and have a passion for sourcing and negotiating deals with vendors.


  • Maintains relationships with assigned key vendors and customers
  • Makes inventory purchases and follows up with vendors on availability and ship dates
  • Maintains product information and assisting in sourcing information and pictures
  • Negotiates competitive business terms with vendors
  • Assists in building product selection
  • Fulfills orders from clients requesting promotional products
  • Performs/completes other additional projects and duties as assigned


  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree required
  • 2-5 years of buying experience in a retail industry, preferably in a college bookstore
  • Previous experience in ecommerce would be an asset
  • Previous experience in promotional products and a college bookstore environment would be assets
  • Hands-on entrepreneurial spirit and drive
  • Strong/advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite and Google Apps
  • Strong analytical thinker, process focused and detail oriented
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
