The Department of Elementary Education is currently accepting applications for a part-time sessional instructor for the Fall 2019.

Candidates must have a Master’s or PhD (preferred) in the area of Indigenous Education and post-secondary teaching experience at the undergraduate level. The focus of the course will be on developing knowledge of Aboriginal peoples’ histories, educational experiences, and knowledge systems, ways of knowing and being and will further develop an understanding of the implications of this knowledge to the professional roles and obligations for teachers, taking into consideration that the class will be comprised of internationally educated teachers relatively new to the context of Canada.

Preference will be given to candidates with a strong classroom teaching background, and with demonstrated experience with teaching for diversity in elementary classrooms. Candidates need to have experience in the following areas: the history of Aboriginal peoples in Canada; current issues and experiences of Aboriginal peoples and of Aboriginal learners in schools.
