The Department of Family Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, invites applications for the Continuing Care Coordinator position, which supports the Post-Graduate program in Family Medicine (FM) and Care of the Elderly (COE).

Reporting to the COE Program Director, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Family Medicine Program Director, COE Program Director, and the Family Medicine Post-Graduate Dean. The Continuing Care Coordinators role involves recruiting prospective residents for the Post-Graduate year 2 FM Continuing Care selective and the COE General Medicine rotation. It also requires participation in university committees as it pertains to Continuing Care rotation (e.g. Residency Program Committee for COE and Joint Residency Program Committee, Faculty of Medicine). Moreover, the role advocates for improved learning exposure for medical students in continuing care.

General duties and responsibilities include recruitment of prospective residents, in training and rotation evaluation, organizing the schedule and teaching activities, program review, and recruitment of preceptors.

The position is 0.1 FTE, which will require the commitment of an average of one half day per week.

Required qualifications for the position are MD with certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada as well as an interest in COE education and advocacy. MD applicants must be licensed within the province of Alberta and should have or be eligible for a clinical appointment with the Department of Family Medicine.
