This position is a part of the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
This is an 8 month recurring term position for August 16 to April 30 annually, with an inactive period occurring between May through mid-August of each year. Please note that the annual salary will be pro-rated to reflect this. Hours of work may include some evenings and weekends.
This posting will be used to fill 2 vacancies in the Dining Hall and Café, Augustana Campus.

Department/Faculty Summary
The Food Service Department at Augustana provides all meals for students living in on-campus housing as well as walk-in customers, retail site and catering. Preparing healthy, well-balanced meals that meet client’s needs and expectations.
Position Summary
Working in the Dining Hall or Cafe the cooks are responsible to prep & prepare a high quality service that meets the needs of our customers. Working to provide a full range of daily meals, meeting special diet requirements and offering a high level of customer services. Able to embrace culinary diversity and be open to adaptation.
Duties
- Providing customers with high level customer service and meals
- Follows Safe Food Guidelines in the preparation of meals according to set recipes & menus
- Be flexible and adaptable to special dietary requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma; Apprentice or Journeyman Cook preferred
- Food Safety Training as determined by the department
- 12 – 18 months experience in Food Industry
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team environment
