Position
Reporting to the Utility Services Manager, Heating Plant (USM-HP), the Heating Plant Maintenance and Projects Supervisor is accountable for the day-to-day scheduling and coordination of maintenance and projects in the plant. The main accountabilities of the Heating Plant Maintenance and Projects Supervisor (HP-MPS) include initiating, leading, planning, and continuous execution of Heating Plant maintenance as well as the critical 2 week plant turnaround, and major equipment inspection and repair (boilers, air cooled condenser, etc.). Other standard activities of the HP-MPS include supervising the maintenance crews, purchasing consumables for maintenance and projects, supervising contractors, consulting with and reporting to the Utility Services Manager, Heating Plant (USM-HP) regarding equipment availability, costs and scheduling of plant maintenance and projects.
Duties
Major responsibilities of the Heating Plant Maintenance and Projects Supervisor are as follows:
- Supervises, schedules, plans, and coordinates the day-to-day plant maintenance, large planned and unplanned plant and equipment turnarounds, and project work in the Heating Plant;
- Ensure compliance with all established governmental regulations and in-house programs that affect the safety and environmental compliance of the operation;
- Assists the design, engineering, construction, and project management of Heating Plant upgrades and expansions;
- Performs associated administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications
A Valid Alberta Second Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency with maintenance experience and experience as a Project Manager, Maintenance Planner, or Maintenance Foreman.
OR
A Trade Certification with a minimum of 10 years experience in a Registered Trade (Boilermaker, Steamfitter, and Millwright are acceptable) plus experience as a Project Manager, Maintenance Planner, and/or Maintenance Foreman.
