The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a clinical position of lecturer or assistant/associate clinical professor within the Division of Developmental Pediatrics, located at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital.

This appointment will be a full-time 1.0 FTE with AHS and a Clinical Academic Colleague (CAC) appointment with the U of A, with a position description profile of 60-70% clinical and 30-40% academic duties.

The successful applicant will join the Division of Developmental Pediatrics, comprised of developmental pediatricians, pediatric rehabilitation medicine specialists, family physicians, psychologists and pediatric nurse practitioners, in providing interdisciplinary care for children with a variety of developmental disabilities and rehabilitation needs.

The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital offers inpatient and outpatient assessment and inter-professional services for children with neurodiversity. A group of pediatricians, physiatrists, and developmental pediatricians provide medical coverage for outpatient specialty clinics and a 10 bed tertiary Pediatric Intensive Rehabilitation Inpatient 24 hour care program. The clinician will provide medical expertise within interdisciplinary teams caring for children and youth with neurodiversity. Depending on the applicant’s experience, the work will be within diagnostic and treatment programs which include autism spectrum, intellectual and learning disorder and neuromotor disorders. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has a fully accredited Developmental Pediatrics subspecialty-training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as fellowship opportunities. The successful applicant will engage with trainees from these programs as well as with General Pediatric residents and elective medical students. There are many opportunities for both classroom-based and clinical teaching as well as for developing skills in Developmental Pediatric medical education.

The division is home to a number of active education and research programs providing opportunities and mentorship for academic pursuits. Qualifications

Applicants must hold an MD and have completed a specialty residency in Developmental Pediatrics; or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency and fellowship in Pediatric Physiatry. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license to practice in the Province of Alberta, and appropriate liability coverage.
