The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a Clinical Faculty Dermatologist to be based at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions.  The University is currently home to more than 38,000 students with more than 15,000 faculty and staff. 

Since its inception in 1987, the mission of the Division of Dermatology has been to advance dermatology through research and education. We provide consultative clinical services to the entire Northern Alberta and parts of British Columbia. Of the total of over 16,000 dermatological consultations annually, a significant proportion comprises of highly specialized care, focusing on cutaneous oncology and complex inflammatory diseases. The educational program in dermatology spans all levels of medical education from medical students to dermatology residency. We have an active, collaborative research environment, with an excellent publication record in cutaneous oncology, inflammatory diseases, and quality improvement. The division works closely with a group of community-based dermatologists affiliated with the University of Alberta, who actively support the research and education missions. 

The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent.  He or she will be eligible to be certification in Dermatology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada.  As well, he or she will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Key accountabilities of the Clinical Academic Colleague Dermatology Physician will include, but will not be limited to, clinical services with evaluation and management of dermatology patients in ambulatory and hospital environments. The position will also include contribution to medical education of learners at all levels, from medical students and residents, to dermatology residents.

The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Remuneration for this position is based on the Academic Alternative Relationship Plan (AMHSP). Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
