Research Assistant: Canadian Survey Study

Position Details

  • 0.2 FTE position, working 1 day per week
  • Hourly rate up to a maximum of 25.00 per hour
  • This position has a duration of 7 months
  • Position is based in Edmonton, Alberta

Position Summary

The successful applicant will support the development, piloting and dissemination of a Canadian survey on use of integrative interventions in critical care units.


  • Contribution to finalizing survey questionnaire and conversion to on-line survey.
  • Assistance with piloting and evaluating the questionnaire.
  • Communication with group of experts, scheduling, organizing and facilitating meetings.
  • Communication and dissemination to critical care units in Canada (email and telephone communications)
  • Monitoring on-line responses and administering reminder.
  • Monitoring of database and contribution to data analysis
  • Day-to-day coordination of project and communication with collaborators
  • Contribution to manuscript writing/ revision
  • Literature searches and contributing to literature reviews


  • Undergraduate degree in a health, biomedical or social sciences-related discipline; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Prior research assistantship and coordination experiences are an asset.
  • Proficiency with computers and/or tablets is required. Willingness to work with and learn new software for data retrieval and analysis.
  • Experience with academic writing and good writing skills are an asset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and address multiple simultaneous priorities in an effective, efficient manner
  • Self-motivating, displaying personal initiative and an ability to work within a team
