The University of Alberta (U of A), Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a position within the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics.

This position will be a full-time 1.0 FTE with AHS and a Clinical Academic Colleague (CAC) appointment with the U of A. 

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will provide inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as long term care for children with rheumatic diseases. In addition to clinical care, the Division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including medical students, pediatric residents, and adult rheumatology residents, among other trainees. The Division is home to active educational scholarship and research programs providing opportunities and mentorship for academic pursuits. We are active collaborators in multi-centre research through the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) network, among other groups.

The successful candidate will participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives. The Division is home to active education and research programs providing opportunities and mentorship for academic pursuits. This position will comprise approximately 65% clinical service (including clinical teaching) and 35% academic pursuits: for example, teaching, research, and administrative duties for the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty members.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an MD and have completed a specialty residency in Pediatric Rheumatology. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and hold appropriate liability coverage.
