The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications from physicians trained in pediatric oncology with a focus on neuro-oncology for a clinical position within the Division of Pediatric Immunology, Hematology/Oncology, Palliative Care and Environmental Health (iHOPE) in the Department of Pediatrics and the Stollery Children's Hospital. The position is full-time 1.0 FTE, with 60-70% clinical service and 30-40% academic duties.
The successful applicant will join ten academic pediatric hematologists/oncologists within the division providing a full spectrum of clinical oncology services. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has a fully accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology subspecialty training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The division also has an active basic and clinical science research program, collaborating locally, nationally and internationally. Applicants must hold an MD and have completed subspecialty residency in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Hematology/Oncology). Preference will be given to candidates with a fellowship in neuro-oncology and an interest in translational and clinical research. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and hold appropriate liability coverage.
Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
