Post-doctoral Fellow in Cardiovascular Research at the Canadian VIGOUR Centre
The Canadian VIGOUR Centre (www.thecvc.ca), in collaboration with Alberta Health Services (AHS) Cardiovascular Health & Stroke Strategic Clinical Network (CvHS SCN), has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to join a research team committed to the enhancement of cardiovascular (CV) health.
The Post-doctoral Fellow will participate in several established CV research programs related to research priorities of the CVC and the CvHS SCN. They will participate in a full range of research activities, with particular focus on research design and knowledge dissemination via conference abstracts, presentations, reports, and peer-reviewed publications.
The candidate must have obtained a PhD or MD within the last 5 years and have research experience in cardiovascular disease. Experience working in an academic research organization, and knowledge of clinical trials, epidemiology, population health concepts, artificial intelligence, health economics and Alberta’s health care system are considered assets. The candidate must have very strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently, and manage time and expectations effectively. Publication of high-quality peer-reviewed research papers is the primary expectation of this position.
The candidate will be located at the CVC, at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The annual stipend offered will be consistent with those of other national agencies (CIHR, HSF of Canada) and may be renewable for up to 4 years, depending on funding and performance.
