The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications from research-focused pediatric dermatology physicians for a position within the Division of Pediatric Dermatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta.

This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) tenure track (contingent) position, 50-60% clinical service and 40-50% academic pursuits including research, teaching, and administrative duties (this is negotiable).

Responsibilities

Within the clinical mandate of the Department and Division, the successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient dermatology care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and Edmonton Zone pediatric sites.

Within the academic mandate of the Department the successful candidate will participate in and eventually lead the division in research and education.

Within the educational mandate, the candidate will teach all levels of learners in various venues both within the clinical and academic realms.

The candidate will liaise with adult dermatology and the dermatology training program, providing didactic lectures, OSCE and written exams for trainees in both pediatric and dermatology programs.

The candidate will also conduct research and become a member of WCHRI.

This position will comprise approximately 50-60% clinical service and 40-50% academic pursuits: for example, research, teaching, and administrative duties for the Division of Pediatric Dermatology. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty members.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an MD and have completed a specialty residency in Pediatrics or Dermatology and fellowship training in Pediatric Dermatology.

A proven record of high-quality research achievements as evidenced by peer-reviewed funding and high impact publications is required. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and hold appropriate liability coverage.

Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
