The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation (KSR) is consistently ranked in the top 10 faculties of its type worldwide (QS World University Rankings). It is home to approximately 1000 undergraduate students and 120 graduate students. In addition to its 5 undergraduate degree programs, KSR also offers Masters degrees, a suite of graduate certificates, and a world class PhD program.

KSR is seeking to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor in behavioural medicine. The successful candidate will have a research program that focuses on psychological factors associated with physical activity participation/promotion at any stage of the lifespan or among persons with chronic diseases. A background in exercise psychology, health psychology, or behavioural epidemiology would be an asset. We encourage applications from candidates who conduct research with Indigenous people, Black people, people of colour, people experiencing disability, women, newcomers, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

A PhD or equivalent doctorate degree in kinesiology or a related field is required. Productive postdoctoral training or other postgraduate work experience is an asset. The successful candidate will bring a record of achievement commensurate with appointment at an Assistant Professor level. This will include a record of publication in quality peer reviewed journals as well as demonstrated potential to secure Tri-Council research funding. The successful candidate will be expected to make a contribution to high quality undergraduate and graduate teaching and research. The successful candidate will also possess the ability to work and communicate effectively across disciplines and with external communities.
