The School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time academic position in the Dental Hygiene Program at the level of Assistant Clinical Professor or Associate Clinical Professor. This is a three-year, ten months per year, term appointment with possibility of re-appointment. 

Responsibilities are primarily focused on clinical and didactic teaching and associated administrative duties. There is an expectation of strategic development and demonstration of teaching scholarship involving educational research. Time allocation for private practice may be integrated into this appointment. 

The ideal applicant will be a dental hygienist with a Master’s degree or equivalent; however, preference will be given to applicants with a PhD or EdD.  The successful applicant will also have demonstrated experience in clinical practice, undergraduate teaching and research, and must be eligible for dental hygiene licensure in Alberta. Academic rank and salary will be based on the incumbent’s qualifications, experience, and achievements.

The Dental Hygiene Program in the School of Dentistry is proud to be situated at the University of Alberta with all new teaching, clinical and research facilities as of 2011. The School of Dentistry has embarked on a five year curriculum renewal plan for the dentistry and dental hygiene curriculums. Additionally, the School recently implemented an Educational Research and Scholarship Unit to direct and guide teaching and learning.
