The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery, University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services - Edmonton Zone invite applications for the position of a Pediatric General Surgeon with a contingency track appointment at the Stollery Children's Hospital. The Stollery Children's Hospital is quaternary care children's hospital serving children from central and northern Alberta, neighboring provinces and territories and is part of Alberta Health Services, Canada's largest and only provincial health region. The hospital has thirty beds and an eight bed 23-hr unit as well as four NICU's located at different institutions and two Critical Care units located on site. Over nine thousand procedures are performed annually. The Division of Pediatric Surgery is an innovative team consisting of over twenty Pediatric Surgeons in all major subdivisions including both Cardiac and Transplantation Surgery and provides specialized care in all aspects of Pediatric Surgery. The subdivision of General Surgery is compromised of four full time Surgeons.

The successful applicant must have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with subspecialty Fellowship training in Pediatric General Surgery and be eligible for licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Advanced laparoscopic training is considered essential for this position. The job description will include a strong commitment to clinical care delivery, education, both undergraduate and postgraduate, and a proven track record in research is preferred. The successful applicant will have a Masters degree or be prepared to complete such as a requirement of the position. The successful applicant will be appointed to the Division of Pediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta.

Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.
