The Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level.  We are seeking expert candidates in the field of immunology. Immune tolerance provides an example of an area of interest.

Applicants must have a PhD, postdoctoral experience and a proven record of high-quality research achievements. The successful candidate will conduct innovative independent research to attract external funding and outstanding research trainees. There will also be significant opportunities for collaborations with several multidisciplinary research groups within the University, such as: the Alberta Diabetes Institute, the Alberta Transplant Institute, and the Department of Surgery.

A competitive start-up package and research support, along with the opportunity to apply for infrastructure support from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) to help acquire state-of-the-art equipment, will be provided. The successful candidate will contribute to the Department’s undergraduate and graduate programs, including teaching and assisting with administration, and will be appointed as a faculty member in the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology, contingent on ongoing government funding.
