The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry is inviting applications for a full-time academic tenure track position as Director, Division of Anatomy.  The University of Alberta in Edmonton is one of Canada’s top teaching and research universities, with an international reputation for excellence across the humanities, sciences, creative arts, business, engineering, and health sciences. The Division of Anatomy is primarily a teaching division within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry with established expertise in human gross and neuroanatomy, clinical and surgical anatomy, developmental anatomy and histology.  In addition, the Division has expertise in developing innovative teaching methods and novel educational software. The Division also administers the Anatomical Gifts Program (AGP), through which anatomical gifts (body donations) are procured for studying human anatomy through dissection.

Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty, the Division Director is charged with providing the leadership and management necessary to enable successful academic endeavors and excellence in the areas of teaching, research and service.  The successful candidate will have an MD and/or PhD designate and will demonstrate excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, provide dynamic and innovative leadership, and have the necessary skills and experience to complement and further stimulate excellence in teaching and research within the Division.
